Microsoft Word Lesson (MWL-04)

Dear Students

In lesson 04 we will cover the following topics:

  1. Tables
  2. Pictures
  3. Shapes
  4. Smart Art
  5. Charts

So lets start with Inserting or Drawing tables.

click on insert tab, point to table group, click table and select how many rows and columns as you desired

  •    ðŸ‘‰ The vertical lines in table are called Columns
  •    ðŸ‘‰ The horizontal lines in table are called Rows


you can also draw table by clicking the Draw table command and draw lines as you desired as show in the picture:


To Delete a row or column in table, select the row or column and click right mouse and select delete
To insert row or column in table, click inside the table where you want to insert row or column, click right mouse and insert rows or column and select left or right etc.

Now students we will learn about the Chart. Chart shows us the comparison of two or more things or person. for example if we want to show comparison of students exam marks then we use charts. 
There are different types of charts.
Got to insert tab, points to illustrations group and click charts , select your design for chart and when you select column chart it will look like as shown below:


when chart is inserted, An excel data will be also be shown. Fill the data as you wish, for example in category 1, write the name of first student, and so on. 

Now I will teach you what is smart Art. 

Smart Art is also a type of chart which show the organization nomenclature. For example if you want to show how is the head of an office and how many sub ordinate are working under this head then use can use Smart art . 

Click on insert tab, selection illustration group and select your desired art. It will look like this:

for example I select the Hierarchy Art.
