Microsoft Word- Lesson (MWL 02)

In lesson No. 01 we learnt how to open the Word program and interface of Word. In this lesson we will learn about:

1. Saving file
2. Save As the file
3. Password on the file when saving
4. How to open a file 
5. Print the File
6. Different Formatting.
7.  Page Layout etc.

So lets start with make a file and saving it. 

1. Write something, may be a letter, application or anything you want to save, The click on File Tab, Click on save and select location for saving  the file, for example select this PC and then select C:  drive or D: Drive or USB Drive then give a name, and click save. 
2. If you want to give password on this file, then after giving the name to the file, click tools, select  general options and give password in password to open.............................and ok.
3. To rename the file or save the file in different location , then click file tab click save as , give the file a name , click location e.g. D: driver or other and click save. 
4. To Open a specific file click on file tab , click on open , select the file name and click open. 



5. To print the file, click on file tab , click print, select the printer , select pages to print or select all pages and page size , no of copies etc. and click print
6.  Formatting: Formatting mean change of colors, make the text Bold, Italic, underline or highlight  etc. to change the color of the text, select the text, click on Home tab, click on  font color icon and select your colors. To make the text Bold or Italic, and underline, select the text and again click on  Home Tab, click on B and I and   U.  icons. here you can also highlight the text for more attention  etc. Here we can also change the text size, and Fonts etc. 
7. Page Layout:  The page layout options include the Landscape or portrait, Margin and page size. 
8.  The portrait page layout is normally used for writing books, letter, applications etc. and                 Landscape layout is mainly used for making Posters, Maps etc.

        This is the Landscape layout.
